우리는 다른 존재의 삶과 죽음이 전하는 기호를 얼마나 감각하고 사유하며 이에 반응하고 있을까? 그들과 맺어왔던 우리의 폐쇄적인 관계를 우리는 어떻게 열어 놓을 수 있을까? 경계 를 흐리거나 무화하는 것이 아니라 차이의 긴장을 유지하며 어떻게 우리의 관계를 죽이지 않 을 수 있을까? 답을 찾기 위해 비움과 채움이 만나는 작은 동그라미 속으로 고래와 인간의 시간이 잠수한다.

How much do we sense, speculate, and respond to the signs conveyed by the life and death of other beings? How can we open up our clandestine relationship with them? Rather than blur or abolish boundaries, can we sustain the tension that animates such alterity and not neutralize that relationship? In search of answers, whale-time and human-time dive into small circles where emptiness and fullness meet.

Bio

임고은은 서울과 암스테르담에서 영상 작가로 활동하고 있다. 실험 영화 및 영상 설치를 통해 영화를 둘러싼 시선의 주체와 객체, 과거와 현재, 진실과 허구의 변증법적인 관계를 엮어 경계를 유연하게 넘나드는 가능 성을 탐구해 왔다. 최근에는 전 지구적인 생태 위기 속에서 야생을 회복하기 위한 시적인 영상 언어를 어떻게 찾을 수 있을지에 대해 몰두하고 있다.

Go-Eun Im, who lives and works in Amsterdam and Seoul, is a filmmaker and visual artist who works with varied mediums, such as an analogue/digital film, photography and found objects. With her installations and films, she creates transitional memories with porous relationships between moving image and literature. More recently, she has focused on how to find a correlated language for the the bewilderment in the midst of ecological crises.
