The famous speech of Slobodan Milošević, which took place at Kosovo on June 28th 1989, was performed in front of the thousands of people. The National television was streaming it. This event, as known as “happening of the people”, is embodied in the image and the speech of Milošević. History regards it as a presage of the collapse of Yugoslavia and the bloodshed of the Yugoslav Wars. Fragments untitled #1 vivisects media footage and TV stream of the 1989 event in order to denote the invisible and deconstruct the memory.

Fragments untitled is an ongoing serial of works through which Doplgenger researches the politics of media images that participated in creating the historical narratives of Yugoslavia in the period of 1980-2000., especially media images that performed the pretext to the Yugoslav Wars and the breakup of Yugoslavia. Fragments untitled is based on the private archives of citizens who recorded the TV schemes in the 90s. At the same time these are the images that refer to contemporaneity.

1989년 6월 28일 코소보에서 열린 슬로보다 밀로셰비치(Milošević)의 유명한 연설은 수천 명의 사람들 앞에서 시연되었다. 국영 텔레비전이 연설을 방송하고 있었다. "민중의 해프닝"으로 알려진 이 사건으로 밀로셰비치의 이미지와 연설은 (대중들에게) 깊은 인상을 남겼다. 역사적으로 이 사건을 유고슬라비아의 붕괴와 유고슬라비아 유혈 전쟁의 전조로 간주한다.

무제 단편 #1은 1989년 이 사건의 미디어 영상과 TV 스트림을 생체 해부하여 보이지 않았던 조짐을 보여 주며, 그 기억을 해체한다.

무제 단편은 도플젠거가 1980-2000년까지의 기간 동안 유고 슬라비아의 역사적 서술을 만드는 데 관여한 미디어 이미지 정치를, 특히 유고슬라비아 전쟁과 유고슬라비아의 해체에서 역할을 수행 한 미디어 이미지를 연구하는 지속적인 일련의 작품이다. 무제 단편은 90 년대에 TV의 책략을 기록한 시민들 개인의 보관 파일을 기반으로 한다. 동시에 그 파일들은 동시대를 지칭하는 이미지들이다.

• Bio

is an artist duo from Belgrade, comprising Isidora Ilić and Boško Prostran. Doplgenger engages as a film/video artist, researcher, writer, and programmer. The work of Doplgenger deals with the relation between art and politics by exploring the regimes of moving images and the modes of their reception. They rely on the tradition of experimental and avant-garde film and through some of the actions of these traditions intervene on the existing media products or produce in expanded cinema forms. Although their main media is moving image, their work is realised through the text, installations, performances, lectures and discussions. All of these media are treated in their materiality and in relation to other media, and as carriers of meaning structures through which the social and political reality is structured. Their work has been shown internationally at both art institutions and film festivals. Doplgenger a recipient of film awards and Politika Award „Vladislav Ribnikar”, has been supported internationally and has been granted with Artist-in-Residence Programs. They have participated in symposiums and panels, organised workshops and educational programs, and they presented lectures and screened curated programs worldwide.

도플젠거(DOPLGENGER)는 베오그라드 출신의 이시도라 일리에(Isidora Ilie)와 보스코 프로스트란(Bosko Prostran)의 아티스트 듀오로 구성되었다.

도플젠거는 영화/비디오 아티스트, 연구자, 작가, 프로그래머로 활동하고 있다.

도플젠거는 동영상 작품의 이미지 체계가 어떻게 받아들여지는지를 탐구함으로써 예술과 정치의 관계를 다룬다. 그들은 실험적이며 아방가르드 적인 영화 전통에 의존하며, 그런 전통적 행위 중 일부를 기존 미디어 제품에 개입시키거나 확장시킨 유형의 영화를 제작한다. 그들의 주요 매체는 동영상 이미지이지만, 그들의 작품은 텍스트, 설치, 공연, 강연, 토론 등을 통해서도 실현된다. 그런 모든 매체는 그들의 유형성과 다른 매체와의 관계로, 그리고 정치적 사회적으로 구조화된 현실을 통한 의미 구조의 매개체로 취급된다. 그들의 작품은 예술 기관과 영화제에서 국제적으로 상영되었다.

영화상과 폴리티카(Politika)상, 블라디슬라브 립니카(Vladislav Ribnikar)를 수상한 도플젠거는 국제적인 지원을 받았으며 예술인 지원 프로그램(Artist-in-Residence Programs)에 채택 되었다.

그들은 여러 심포지엄과 패널에 참여했으며 워크샵과 교육 프로그램을 조직하고 강연을 하고 엄선된 프로그램들로 전 세계적으로 상영을 했다.
