Bretta C. Walker is a creative practitioner utilizing still and motion photography in an intuition-driven practice. By harnessing the necromantic qualities of the photographic and cinematic processes to hold communion with source, self, and surrounding - her works address issues of liminality, somatic memory, and passage.Walker’s work is that of a deeply personal practice grounded in healing, drawing cues from the resilience and sublimity of Nature and its intrinsic relation to the female condition and form. In her dedication to analog technologies and celluloid, alongside her personal research in eco-processing - alchemy, the hand, and a sense of locality are everpresent forces and co-authors in her work.Walker was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of rural Appalachia and currently leads a nomadic life between the U.S. and Europe. She is a budding herbalist of the Wise Woman tradition, spearheads the publishing project Evidence House, and holds a BFA in Studio Art from Tufts University.

Jean-Jacques Martinod is an Ecuadorean filmmaker, media artist, educator, radio DJ, and film curator. His works study locales as deterritorialized landscapes in a practice that considers the interrelations inherent in fluctuating psychic geographies and expanded human noesis. Utilizing certain traditions within documentary practice and experimental cinema, his works endeavor to interrogate sensory cognition in relation to the natural world and potential mythopoetic territories.

His work has earned awards and screened in museums, galleries, film festivals and independent artist-led spaces and co-ops, including The Museum of the Moving Image, Cinemateca Nacional del Ecuador Ulises Estrella, Cinemateca do MAM Rio de Janeiro, Centre PHI, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Sheffield Doc/Fest, FIDMarseille, Mar del Plata, DocumentaMadrid, European Media Arts Festival, 25FPS, among many others.
