• Description

Alone Together was a project and 2-channel video installation developed with a youth collective at Whitechapel Gallery in East London. The work treats the body as an object and tool of artistic enquiry. This film, one part of the overall installation, captures a performance developed with the collective. The voiceover acts as an exploratory physical meditation, guiding the viewer through states of alienation, curiosity and rapture, while a chorus of the sounds and rhythms of the body provides the soundtrack.

홀로 함께(Alone Together)는 이스트 런던의 화이트채플 갤러리에서 청소년 집단과 함께 개발한 프로젝트이자 2채널 비디오 설치 작품이었다. 작품은 신체를 예술적 탐구의 대상이자 도구로 다룬다. 전체 설치 중의 일부인 이 영화는 집단과 함께 개발된 퍼포먼스를 포착한다. 소리가 만드는 코러스와 몸이 만들어내는 리듬이 사운드 트랙을 제공하는 동안 보이스오버(화면 밖의 해설)는 탐색적, 육체적 명상의 역할을 하며 관객을 소외, 호기심, 황홀의 상태로 안내 한다.

Seth Pimlott is one-half of Shell Company. Shell Company was established by Seth Pimlott and Pearl Doughty-White as a platform for collaborative moving-image practice. The company is an umbrella under which a changing cast of collaborators can assemble, an approach that attempts to address the complexities of group work and disseminated authorship. Their projects are participatory and based on long-term relationships with artists and groups: they are filmic portraits, often developed through a workshop process, where they attempt to hold the individual in productive tension with the collective.
