Description

정체불명의 사람들이 모여있다. 이들은 비밀 사회의 일원 혹은 리얼리티 쇼 게임의 참가자들이다. 이라크 전쟁 등 미디어의 특정 폭력 이미지들이 전개되면서, 그들은 터무니없으면서도 충격적인 제작물의 관객이자 주인공이 된다.

A mysterious group of men and women have gathered: members of a secret society or participants in a reality show game, they become spectators and protagonists of a production that is at once absurd and disturbing, evolving the violence of certain images in the media, particularly those of the Iraq War.

Bio

구동희는 서울을 기반으로 설치, 조각, 영상, 사진 이미지 등 다양한 매체를 통해 작품을 한다. 최근 아트선재센터(2019), 페리지갤러리(2018), 갤러리로얄 (2016), 시청각(2014), PKM갤러리(2013), 두산갤러리(2012) 등에서 개인전을 가졌다. 또한 국립현대미술관, 록번트 미술관, 퐁피두 센터, 테이트 모던, 샤르자 비엔날레, 광주 비엔날레, 미디어시티서울, 부산비엔날레, 난징 트리엔날레 등 다양한 국내외 기획 초대전에서 작품을 선보였다.

Based in Seoul, Koo Donghee works through various media such as installation, sculpture, video, and photographic images. She recently had her solo exhibitions at Art Sonje Center (2019), Perigee Gallery (2018), Gallery Royal (2016), Audio visual Pavilion (2014), PKM Gallery (2013), and Doosan Gallery (2012). She has also presented her work at various national and international invitational exhibitions, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Lockburnt Museum of Art, Center Pompidou, Tate Modern, Sharjah Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, Media City Seoul, Busan Biennale, and Nanjing Triennale.
