• Description

A map from a school atlas is erased until its colors, and depicted regions start to fade. The action is registered in the video, showing its vanishing process. The title of the work is the same as the erased map.

학교 지도책의 지도는 색상까지 지워지고 묘사된 지역들은 흐려지기 시작한다. 액션은 비디오에 녹화되고, 그것(액션)이 사라져가는 과정을 보여준다. 작품의 제목은 지워진 지도와 마찬가지다.

• Bio

Marina Camargo was born in Maceió (Brazil, 1980) and lives in Berlin (Germany). She has a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Visual Arts from the Instituto de Artes in Porto Alegre (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS, Brazil). Since her early years, an expanded notion of drawing marked her research. Image and thought are mutually constituted, thus structuring the artistic work process. Cartographic issues began to interest her when she studied in Barcelona (Visual Culture at the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain). Since then, the sense of physical displacement has become recurrent in her work.

In 2010, Camargo was granted a DAAD scholarship to study with Peter Kogler at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich (Germany), where she later received her Diploma. Exploring different landscape perspectives and representations of places was central to her research during these years.

Her works are part of the collections of Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), MARGS (Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul), Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP), MAC-RS (Museum of Contemporary Art – Rio Grande do Sul), Museu de Arte Moderna Aloisio Magalhães (MAMAM), Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana, among others.

마리나 까마르고는 마쎄이오(Maceió, 브라질, 1980)에서 태어나 베를린(독일)에서 살았다. 그녀는 포르토 알레그레(Porto Alegre)의 예술원(Instituto de Artes - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS, 브라질)에서 시각예술 학사와 석사 학위를 받았다. 그녀는 일찍부터 드로잉의 확장된 개념에 탐구적 관심을 두었다. 이미지와 사고는 함께 구성되며, 예술적 작업 과정을 구조화 한다. 지도제작의 사안은 그녀가 바르셀로나(바르셀로나 대학, 시각 문화; Visual Culture, Universitat de Barcelona, 스페인)에서 공부할 때에도 관심을 끌기 시작했다. 이후 그녀의 작업에서 물리적인 이동 감각은 되풀이 되었다.

2010년에 까마르고는 DAAD 장학금을 받아 뮌헨(독일)의 시각예술 아카데미(Akademie der Bildenden Künste)에서 피터 코글러(Peter Kogler)와 함께 공부했으며 나중에 학위(Diploma)를 받았다. 다양한 풍경 시각들과 장소의 묘사를 탐구하는 것이 그 즈음 그녀 연구의 중심이었다.

그녀의 작품은 리오 미술관 (Museu de Arte do Rio-MAR), 리오 그란데 두 술 미술관 (Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul - MARGS), 상 파울루 문화센터 (Centro Cultural São Paulo - CCSP), 현대 미술 박물관 (Museum of Contemporary Art, Rio Grande do Sul 컬렉션의 일부 - MAC-RS), 알로이시오 마갈리에스 현대 미술관 (Museu de Arte Moderna Aloisio Magalhães - MAMAM), 마리오 퀸타나 문화의 집 (Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana) 등에 전시되었다.
