바닷가에 있는 한 큰 호텔의 임시직 청소부가 말한다. “제가 청소 일을 할 때, 전 호텔 투숙객의 소지품을 세세히 살펴보면서 제가 알 길이 없을 타인의 인생을 지켜봤어요.” 그녀는 소통이 불가능한 상태로 지내며 겉으로 드러난 외피를 분석하고 의례적인 일상을 엄격히 고수하는 방식에 매달려 살아간다. 

<Hotel Roya>은 현대 사회를 그린 파편화된 미완의 모자이크이다. 이 작품은 영혼의 공포, 관음증 혹은 단순히 부적응자에 관한 영화로 볼 수 있을 것이다.

Hotel Royal is fragmented and incomplete mosaic of contemporary societies. It could be dubbed a film about the horrors of the soul, about voyeurs or simply about misfits.
