• Description

아기 자세는 휴식을 위한 요가 동작으로, 엄마의 자궁 속 태아의 모습을 본뜬 자세이다. 안식처로서의 느긋함과 순백으로 탈색될 수 없는 잉태를 예언하는 장면은 물과 기름처럼 양극의 용해가 아닌 ‘어머니’의 젠더코드에 부착되는 다양한 접촉면을 충돌 지점으로 드러낸다. 이는 여성이며, 어머니가 될 예정이 없는 타자이며, 동시에 잉태가 가능한 물질이자 퀴어한 연대자로서의 나/우리를 인식하는 시간이다. 백색 위에 놓인 오염되거나 죽은 흔적이나 얼룩은 신체와 분리되지 않은 채 우리가 흡수한 상징들이다. 아기 자세를 하며 나오는 날숨은 독소이며, 포즈로 감싸는 외부는 시끄럽고 재생산이 이루어지고 있는 노동 현장이자 폐기물 더미이다. 이를 통해 “내부-활동적인(intra-active)” 어머니-지구로 확장하는 신체와 환경의 물질성을 고찰하는 포스트휴먼 환경윤리의 담론을 몸소 감각해보고자 한다.

Child's pose is a yoga movement for relaxation, and it is a posture that mimics the image of a fetus in a mother's womb. The scene of predicting pregnancy that cannot be discolored into pure white and relaxation as a haven reveals the various contact surfaces attached to the ‘mother’s’ gender code as collision points, rather than dissolving the two poles like water and oil. This is a time to recognize me/us as a woman, as an other person who does not plan to become a mother, as a material that can be conceived and as a queer solidarity. The contaminated or dead traces or stains placed on white are symbols that we absorbed without separating from the body. Breathing out in a Child's pose is a toxin, and the outside wrapped in a pose is a noisy and reproduced labor site and a pile of waste.Through this, I would like to personally feel the discourse of post-human environmental ethics that examines the materiality of the body and the environment extending to the “intra-active” mother-earth.

사적 경험이 타 예술인 및 다양한 분야 종사자와의 대화와 협업으로 통과되어, 다른 사건으로 전개 및 발화되는 지점에 관심을 두고 작업으로 풀어내고 있다. ‘우연적 해프닝’ 혹은 ‘사건 현장’의 단면처럼 표상되는 내러티브는 일상성과 시간성을 통과하며 드로잉, 텍스트, 미디어, 사진 아카이브 등 다양한 매체로 가시화된다. 현재는 <답 없는 공간: 근사한 악몽>(2016-2018)과 <다독풍경>(2019) 프로젝트를 기점으로 물질세계의 뒤죽박죽한 창발을 상상하며 도시와 몸의 불가분한 관계를 탐구하고 있다. 도시의 미시사와 사적 서사와의 관계를 긴밀하게 사유하여, 상식과 보편으로 가장한 혐오와 폭력성을 드러낼 수 있는 모순과 자조의 면면을 관찰 중이다.

Bomroya is working on the point where personal experiences have been passed through conversations and collaborations with other artists and practitioners in various fields, and is interested in the point of development and initiation into other events. The narrative, which is represented like a certain section of  'accidental happening' or 'scene of an incident', passes through everydayness and temporality, and is visualized in various media such as drawings, texts, media, and photo archives. Currently, Bomroya is exploring the inseparable relationship between the city and the body, imagining the jumbled emergence of the material world, starting with the projects <Answer Without Answer: A Nice Nightmare>(2016-2018) and <Landscape of Extensive Reading>(2019). By closely examining the relationship between the city's microscopic history and personal narratives, Bomroya is observing the aspects of contradiction and self-help that can reveal hatred and violence disguised as common sense and universal.
