미디어 아티스트이자 프로듀서인 김세진은 서강대학교 영상대학원 영상미디어과에서 영화를 전공하고 영국의 슬레이드 미술대학(UCL)에서 미디어아트를 전공했다. 그는 집단 혹은 군중 속 익명으로서의 한 개인이 거스를 수 없는 거대한 체계와 시스템에 적응하거나 저항하고자 하는 태도와 삶의 방식에 주목하고 그것을 둘러싼 사회, 정치, 역사적 맥락을 배경으로 한 크고(거시적/국제적) 작은(미시적/지역적) 삶의 이동들과 그들을 이어주는 플랫폼으로서의 도시 공간 그리고 이 모든 현상의 구심점으로 존재하고 있는 끊임없는 삶의 노동에 관해 시네마적 문법과 다큐멘터리의 사실적 기법을 적용한 비디오, 영화의 기초 원리를 이용한 키네틱 조각, 디지털 전자사운드, 다양한 종류의 미디엄을 이용한 드로잉, 텍스트등의 여러 시각매체를 통해 탐구해 나간다. 아트센터 나비, 문화역서울 284등에서 개인전을 국립현대미술관, MAXXI (로마), Artier Nord(오슬로)등의 그룹전에 참여했으며 송은미술대상 2016, 블름버그 뉴 컨템포러리즈 2011등을 수상했다.

Sejin Kim received MFA in Fine Art from Slade School of Fine Art in London and MA in Film/TV from Sogang University in Seoul. She works with a variety of media apparatuses, including documentary realism and cinematic language to explore various and perplexing relationships between individuals and contemporary society systems. This will chronicle the anxiety and fear, loneliness and alienation, conflict and confusion, and such conditions an individual endures in trying to negotiate his/her existence and identity in a society that sustains itself by placing limitations on its members.
