Description
A film constructed based on a game of chance and a collection of encounters in workshops and homes in the city of Rome. Although the protagonists never appear together, they are inextricably bound by their actions — meaning is conveyed through movement and its associated sound, slowly forming a visual exploration of physicality. The Demands of Ordinary Devotion invites a reflection on the process of making, the prospect of motherhood, and uncertainties in creation, balance and composition.
우연의 게임(Game of chance)을 기반으로 로마 시내의 일터들과 여러 가정에서 조우한 우연을 모아 만든 영화다. 주인공들이 함께 나타나지는 않지만, 움직임과 그에 따른 소리를 통해 의미가 전달되고 서서히 신체성의 시각적 탐사가 형성된다. 이 작품은 제작 과정, 모성의 전망, 창조적인 불확실성, 균형과 구성에 대한 사색으로의 초대를 한다.
Bio
Eva Giolo is an artist working across film, video, and installation. Her work has been exhibited at Sadie Coles HQ, Harlan Levey Project, WIELS centre for Contemporary Art , MAXXI–National Museum of 21st Century Art, Kunstmuseum Den Haag, BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts, Palazzo Strozz, Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, Kunsthalle Wien, and major film festivals like International Film Festival Rotterdam, Viennale, FIDMarseille, Cinéma du Réel among others. She is a founding member of the production and distribution platform elephy.
에바 지올로는 영화, 비디오, 설치 등 다양한 매체를 통해 작업하는 예술가다. 그녀의 작품은 Sadie Coles HQ, Harlan Levey Project, WIELS 현대미술센터, MAXXI–21세기 국립미술관, Kunstmuseum 덴 하흐(Kunstmuseum Den Haag), BOZAR 미술센터, Palazzo Strozz, 안트워프 현대미술관(Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp), Kunsthalle Wien 등에서 전시되었다. 또한 로테르담 국제영화제, 비엔나 국제 영화제(Viennale), FID마르세유(FIDMarseille), Cinéma du Réel 등 주요 영화 페스티벌에서도 작품이 상영되었다. 그녀는 제작 및 배급 플랫폼 elephy의 창립 멤버다.
